The Linux : : Advantage

Linux is a free, open source operating system kernel that has grown tremendously in popularity in recent years. Combined with a suite of tools and applications from the GNU project, it provides the reliability and advanced features of UNIX to anyone for little or no cost, runs on virtually any hardware from embedded devices and 386 PCs to large enterprise servers, and is supported by a vast number of organisations and enthusiasts around the world.

With a growing base of impressive software applications, combined with attractive and powerful desktop environments, Linux is rapidly moving beyond its already widespread server deployment to become a serious challenger across the computing spectrum.
